Atlanta, Georgia Sep 11, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - On September 3, 2023, the "Hang On To A Dream Theater" in Hollywood, California, was filled with anticipation and excitement. Independent artists, songwriters, VIP guests, and representatives from the global music, film, and television industries were in attendance. As the red carpet closed, the nominees and dignitaries made their way inside to find out who would triumph in the 11th Annual Indie Music Channel Awards.
Stevie Hawkins, a blues music master artist, prevailed, winning the "Best Blues Artist" award for the performance of his blues/soul composition entitled "Lonely No More", co-written by Charlotte Hannon, Hawkins longtime songwriting collaborator. The award recipients were selected by a world-wide panel of judges comprised of A&R personnel, DJs, and music industry professionals.
"Id like to congratulate Stevie Hawkins on his award win for Best Blues Artist. He is among the best of the best. He is humble, an artist of integrity, and sets the standard for maintaining pure honesty in traditional blues and soul music," declared Dr. Gerald Murray, the head of Gerald Murray Music LLC, Hawkins' management and booking agency located in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. "Gerald Murray Music is proud to represent this incredibly gifted, multi-talented artist for concert engagements both nationally and internationally," Murray concluded.
"Lonely No More" is a featured song on Hawkins Emphasis Records album release entitled "High Times". The album features Stevie Hawkins on lead vocals, drums, percussion, piano, organ, and harmonica, as well as the producer and engineer of the album.
Hawkins said, Id like to extend a sincere thank you to Christopher Ewing, Emmy Award winning TV host, actor, model, and Indie Music Channel founder, and the panel of judges located around the world who honored me with the distinction of the Best Blues Artist award amid a range of both female and male blues artist contenders. Congratulations to my co-writer of Lonely No More, Charlotte Hannon, and to all nominees and winners of the Indie Music Channel awards. We, as creators of music, share a duty and a responsibility to reach out and share with others our love, our experiences, thoughts, emotions, happiness, our passion, and our pain. Music is a deeper revelation than all wisdom and all philosophies. Life is maintained by music, the cosmos has a spirit, intelligence has wings, imagination soars and creates reality. So, I say to everyone, follow your dreams and aspirations, believe in yourself, remain confident and be assertive in everything you do, and never give up, no matter what you do. Every individual is unique and wonderful.
Stevie Hawkins is a recipient of previous Indie Music Channel awards. Among those awards are: "Best Blues Artist", "Best Live Blues Performance", "Best Blues Producer", "Best Songwriter (Blues)", "Best Live Performance (Rock)", "Producer of the Year", and "Artist of the Year".
"Hawkins' remarkable career has now spanned 40 years as a singer, songwriter, musician, producer, and drummer for national and international major recording artists. Stevie Hawkins embodies the tradition of the great blues artists of the past, but he is also a role model for the next generation of true blues artists in terms of artistic and creative development. Not only is he one of the most expressive singers and drummers of his time, but he's also a talented producer and an accomplished songwriter. So we are very happy to see him receive the recognition and respect he so richly deserves," said Emphasis Records.
The Indie Music Channel Awards is an annual event held in Hollywood, California, and judged by a panel of experts from across the music industry: A&R, production and engineering, artist management, mainstream radio and television, and Grammy-winning artists and producers.
