Taipei Shih / Taipei Hsien, Taiwan Mar 4, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - 2025 Asia Dance Tour Taipei Open" made its lively debut on February 28 at Taipei Arena, an event of extraordinary significance for Taiwan! Now in its 14th successful edition hosted in Taiwan, it has become recognized as one of the worlds four major open championships as well as a world ranking event. With a grand scale and a total prize pool of NT$3.3 million, the event attracted 850 top ballroom dance experts from 26 countries and regions worldwide. In addition, top Ballroom and Latin dancersranked among the worlds top 24volunteered to compete for the world championship title at their own expense, while several thousand enthusiastic spectators gathered at Taipei Arena to be part of the celebration. The competition opened its doors at 7:30 AM, followed by the international preliminary rounds in the afternoon. In the evening, the finals in the World Amateur Open Ballroom and Latin categories, the Asian Professional Ballroom and Latin categories, and the World Professional Open Ballroom and Latin categories featured 10 couples of world-renowned stars in a special honor performance that brought the event to its climax!
This event was co-organized by the Department of Sports of Taipei City Government and the Taiwan International Sport Dance Development Association. The Department of Sports of Taipei City Government is committed to promoting ballroom dancea discipline that is also one of the competition events at the World Masters Games 2025 Taipei & New Taipei Cityallowing Taiwanese competitors to gain invaluable international experience through the Taipei Open. Taipei City Mayor Mr. Chiang Wan-an personally attended the event, extending his heartfelt thanks for the professionalism and dedication shown by the Association in organizing this international-level competition. Under the leadership of Chairman Liu Shun-Yi and Secretary-General Chen Wei-Chuan, many talented Ballroom and Latin dancers have been nurtured and promoted, enabling Taiwan to engage with the world through dance and establishing Taipei as a welcoming city for the sport.
The World Professional Open Latin Championship was claimed by the pair from Italy - Nino Langella Andra Vaidilaite, who are the newly crowned world professional Latin champions. Having participated in competitions in Taiwan since 2017, this pair not only confirmed their support for the Taipei Open but also expressed deep admiration for the passion of the Taiwanese audience. This year, they returned to the dance floor and clinched the World Professional Latin Dance Championship.
The World Professional Ballroom Dance Championship title was won by the pair representing SingaporeStanislav Zelianin Irina Cherepanovas. This duo, who began competing in the Asia Tour Taipei Open in 2015, captured the championship title for the 3rd time. Meanwhile, the World Amateur Ballroom and Latin Championship titles were respectively claimed by the pairs representing China Yu Jie Tang & Ai Ni Zha and representing Italy Cosimo Barra Diana Sharipova. Taiwanese competitors also achieved remarkable results: the pair Marcus Lin & Bella Lee won the Asian Professional Ballroom Championship category.
This years spectacular competition concluded on the evening of February 28 amid cheers and applause at Taipei Arena.
